CTL (Cape Town Lesbians) is a volunteer-powered initiative that hosts various events that aim to allow people to be part of a community. We create spaces where people can have conversations and form meaningful connections with each other. We host a wide variety of events, from family-friendly picnics to discussion evenings, movie nights, board games, art classes, and more.
Most of our events are free to attend in order to promote inclusivity. We use the term “Lesbian” as an inclusive umbrella term. It is a label that helps you find a community, not a prescription of who is allowed in this space. This group welcomes and celebrates all sapphics, women who love women (including bisexuals and pansexuals), and all trans and gender non-binary folk.
